What is a form factor?

A form factor refers to the physical size and shape of the hardware component of a system.
SSD form factors include the 2.5” Standard, M.2 (NGFF), and mSATA.
The most commonly used form factors are the 2.5” Standard, which has the same dimensions as the 2.5” HDD, and the M.2, which has been scaled down to fit ultrabooks.
